Newport Beach
I've been venturing to our family Beach House since I was born. It holds so many wonderful memories for me. Recently, our friends and their children stayed at the house with us for a couple of days. I captured this picture of Teya as we were walking back to the house from the beach. I can't wait to have children who will carry the same memories as I have for this wonderful community in Newport.

Also, Embrey fell in love with Tucker when he held her hands and she jumped over the waves for hours.

A Funk'n Wedding
We were fortunate enough to witness the marriage of Kimberly Tawney to Dustin Funk on July 25th. It was a beautiful ceremony at the Sportsman's Lodge in Studio City, CA. The wedding colors were Burgundy and black which were carried through all the aspects of the wedding, including Kim's beautiful gown. The bridesmaids dresses were Burgundy with little black ribbon around the waist, I was lucky I could even breathe in the size 2 the dress lady accidentally ordered for me! What great friends we have from the old to the new, we are so very happy for the new Dustin Funk Family.

Happy 4th of July!
I LoVe Sparklers! Not only is the 4th a great day to celebrate America, it is also a great day filled with friends and family. We began our day with the Cannon fam at the Annual Santa Clarita Parade, we also saw our good friends Aubrey, Ryan and their son Sage there. Then we drove toward Copper Hill to go swimming with our friends Jen and Jon Lyons. We ended our day at the Cashman house for a BBQ and mini fireworks show, with Brendan's friends and the nieborhood kids. Oh, and I LoVe my dad's BBQ dinners which never disappoint. Thanks everyone for making it such a great 4th!

Here are some pictures from 4th of July last year....

Tucker is holding a flag that Cannon made in my Gymboree Art class that he attended while they were visiting from Japan. And below my dad is making his famous hamburger patties.

I Do in Malibu
To all our friends & family:
Our hearts & minds are guided by those that came before us. We tromp through the unknown because that's the way our fathers did it, and we think of others with fond thoughts because our mothers taught us to have compassion for others.
When I was young I spent most of my summer days at the beach. I distinctly remember following my father's footprints in the sand by taking large leaps so that my footprints land in the imprints he had left. Today I realize that our footsteps have wondered a path separate from that of our parents but if it weren't for the footprints that laid our foundation, life would have had a different story for us. We are blessed to have been surrounded by friends and family that have left their footprints in the sand so that we may experience the support, guidance, love and laughter that you all share with us.

On April 26, 2008 we officially became a new family. The wonderful people who shared our special union with us at sunset in Malibu on a beautiful Spring day shared in the moments that we cannont describe in words. The collection of photos that we have are pieces of our lives that we will remember for eternity. This is our attempt to recreate our perfect beach wedding.

Before the 114 guests arrived at the Beach Club
Terri from Tru Heart Creations was busy at work
creating our vision of a "Beach Chic Wedding."

Every detail from the pillows that matched our wedding colors to the coral filled center pieces was what I envisioned in my dreams.
It took blood, sweat, tears and help from anyone that I could get to help me. I'd like to send some very appreciative 'shout outs' to those who willingly offered their time to the Cashman/Cannon Wedding cause:*Erin Cannon and Dayna Snow- covered themselves in white powder from sanding my table name frames to give them a perfect beachy weathered look
*Mom Cannon and Natasha Hurley (yes, and even Erin did a few)- hot gluing the mounted wedding programs onto Raffia Fans perfectly
*Brendan Cashman, Natasha, Mom Cannon, Tuck, and random hands from the Tristan Family household- Napkin Night with only 2 days until the wedding- folding, wrapping, taping, gluing, tieing, packing on the assembly line wouldn't have been as fun without you
*Mom Cannon (yes, Dayna did a few including Tuck's:)- stinky star fish name cards-Steph, need I say more?
