Happy Mother's Day

It is Mother's Day everyday in my book. I pinch Cash most days just to make sure he's really real.

Life is so sweet and I count the blessings I have been given. 1. 2. 3. husband. baby. my very own family.

The Easter Bunny Came!

Even though we were at grandma and grandpa's the Easter Bunny knew we were not at home. Clever bunny rabbit!

A Wee Lil' Irishman

Cash's name is more Irish than he is. None the less, he will always be reminded of the Irish family that came before him to create this fine specimen of a human he is and will become.

Merry Christmas

We spent the days leading up to Christmas decorating, singing "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," watching the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, and telling Cash what a good boy he's been this year. We are so blessed to have our little miracle this Christmas. Our hearts are truly full of joy, love, and the Christmas spirit.

New Year's 2012

This year for New Year's we went on a 8 day road trip to San Fran and then on to Lake Tahoe. It turned out to be the R&R we desperately needed. There's really nothing the city and some good clean mountain air can't do. We visited (almost) all of Tucker's favorite San Fran spots*, drove across the Golden Gate to walk around the Muir Woods, snowboarded on the hardiest manmade snow at Heavenly and Northstar, put a few bucks in the Wheel of Fortune slot, and then booked it home to the poor cats who had been fending for themselves all the while.

*Special thanks to Cole for letting us crash in his apartment while we were there and he was away.

Christmas came....

....and went.

All Hallows Eve

The front light post was transformed into a spooky scarecrow (and I'm still deciding if I like this guy on the post instead of the ugly undestroyable ivy that the post usually sports year round).

The pumpkins were all carved (all seven of them).

The costumes were draped and tromped around the neighborhood (Tucker's the guy carring the bloody ax). The children can be explained (but that's a whole other post).

Fourth of July 2011- NB Style

We stayed local this year.

We missed the Santa Clarita 4th Parade viewing with the Cannons and the BBQ-Cultasac Firework Show with the Cashmans.

But, it was worth it because we got to see the Newport festivities and hang out with our cousins.

We biked, BBQed, beach tanned, baked goodies for ourselves (and some for our favorite nieghbors), and enjoyed every second of being at home this year.

Good Bye Christmas

Grandma Castronova has the most Christmas decorations that I have ever seen. Each year we put up and take down her monstrous collection of snowmen, lights, ornaments, Snow Village houses, snowglobes, poinsettias, poinsettias in pots, bells, large red ribbons, wreaths, stands of holly, candles, angels, and porcelain statues. I'm missing a few categories, but let's admit that you get the idea.

Since these two days a year are such a task we just simply throw up and tear down with no method, then high five when it's done. This year we decided that enough is enough, bought tubberwear bins, took hours, and categorized and organized ALL of grandma's Christmas decor.

Yikes!

Ahhh! Much better!



Because of this master organizing session we will hopefully have an easier time putting up and taking down grandma's decorations for her favorite time of year.
