7 Months Old

There has always been a spark in Cash's eyes. Everyone, friend or foe, comments on how beautiful his eyes are. Yes, they are beautiful but I think people see that contagious spark by just looking at him. His light has only gotten brighter. Cash sees his world differently now, every toy must be examined, he glances around objects to see what's beyond them, he gives loves and kisses, and genuinely loves certain things in his environment. For example, we read a few books every night before bed and he has his favorites, "Goodnight Moon," "While the World is Sleeping," and "Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny."
He makes every experience sweeter and every day brighter than the last.

Mommy & Me Swim Lessons

Hooray!
Swim lessons finally!
I used to take our friend's kid to swim lessons at this place and would long (sob uncontrollably and long) for the day when I could take my own child to swim lessons. The mommies and babies were so cute bobbing up and down, singing songs, and twirling round (it was visual torture really). Now I'm that mommy!!! I know it sounds sooooo STUPID but my dreams came true!
Cash was a champ, like always. He was in awe at his surroundings and very overwhelmed at the sights and sounds. It was his first time going under water and floating. I was waiting for the tears when he came up from under water and the water drained out of his nose. But no tears, just a few shocked blinks like, "what the hell did you just do that for?" Curious, calm, collective, smiley, and alert....that's my Cashie pants.

6 Months

Ahhhhh! Half a year! My how time flies....

I revisited my 5 month post and laughed out loud because sleep training was a bust. It didn't happen. It will never happen again. I toughed out another month of nightly zombie walks to his room to rock, hush, and nurse my cuddly little boy. Finally, yes, FINALLY, Cashie is only waking twice a night to nurse and if he does wake in between he will fall back asleep on his own. Can I get a hallelujah?!

Continuing on....he has not gained even an ounce this past month. 19lbs.....I have to say that I think his dairy free life has finally helped my Skinny out, less frequent dirty diapers and no more grumbly tummy. As for developmental achievements, he has learned that if he wants something he can beg for it and if you want to take it away from him once in hand all hell will break loose. Cash loves (loves) sticking his tongue out and has found the relationship between the word 'no' and shaking his head...sometimes he'll do these two actions simultaneously. He has made no effort to crawl and why would he with a mother who can't keep her hands off of him?

5 Months

Cash has been pretty adamant about not napping and waking frequently at night. We are trying sleep training.....it is hard on us both to say the least. We still have nothing to show for it.

Our little chubba lubba is whispering at 20lbs' ear asking to be let in. He has grown an inch this past month keeping in the 90th percentile. As far as developmental leaps he now sits up on his own for minutes at a time, he rolls really well from back to front, he practices new sounds but still loves to use gaga when talking, he loves looking into his toy bin and pulling out the toy that looks most interesting to him, the best new development is his wanting cuddles by burying his head into my shoulder and holding on tightly to my arm.

4 Months

This little miracle of ours turned 4 months. We are currently in the midst of his first cold and my first cold as a mommy. The humidifier, snot sucker and essential oils have really helped ease his cough and runny nose. Being a mommy to a sick baby is hard but being a sick mommy with a sick baby is even harder.
Cash has refined his grasping skills, rolls over from tummy to back, sits comfortably in the Bumbo, is a drool machine (we found some lifefactory teethers that he loves, he talks up a storm, still only takes 30 min snoozes and rarely takes long naps, and is starting to be a real cuddle bug.
Life is full. We are blessed.

Cash man is 3 Months old!

We are in awe of this little spirit we brought into this world only 3 short months ago. His soul is so kind, gentle, and loving. Cash has hit several more developmental milestones this last month: he giggles, chats away (which we call dolphin language because it's such a high pitch it is as if the dolphins taught him), he grasps objects more tightly, has deemed between 7 and 8pm to be bedtime and sleeps at least 5 hours the beginning part of the night, recently had his first laugh attack, has rolled over on his own once (now that he does baby push ups he tolerates tummy time more), has the start of a tooth coming in on his bottom left (drool factory), and weighs 16.5lbs (95th percentile-not too shabby). Love in all forms are this little boy who we couldn't imagine life without.

2 Months

To mommies and daddies time truly flies by. At 2 months Cash is smiling all the time, sucking his thumb (and all other fingers), standing up bearing all 14 of those pounds, anticipating a coming tummy raspberry, reaching out at his toys, and having smile contests and conversations with mommy. This month is Christmas, a time when last year I could never imagine in my wildest dreams that I'd have this living, breathing, joyful baby boy in my arms. We are in awe of Cash everyday and literally can't stop starring at him.

First Two Weeks

We can't stop starring. Cash is such a good baby. We say this to everyone followed by knock on wood. He sleeps at night until we wake him to feed, naps here and there throughout the day, he loves to be swaddled, cuddled, bathed and kissed. He is so alert and curious about his surroundings, he minimally fusses and when he does it only takes seconds to figure out what he needs. The new parent fatigue is bearable when we know all our wildest dreams are starring right back at us with those mesmerizing deep grey eyes.
Other Events:
-Cash weighed 9.1lbs when we left the hospital and exactly a week later he weighed 10.1lbs at his first pediatrician appointment. The doctor was impressed that we achieved this feat with only breast milk.
-Cash lost his umbilical cord at 15 days (and mom cried).
-Cash will stick his tongue out on cue after starring at his goofy parents sticking their tongues out.
-Cash is already so loved by all his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is one of the luckiest babies I know.

He's Here

More than 4 years in the making:
