UPROOTING

I'd like to make an official announcement that we are moving to Topanga. No we are not buying we will still be renting. This guest house unit will still allow us to keep saving for our first house because of its reasonable price for the area.
We will be nesting atop a hillside on Old Topanga Canyon Road. From every window in the house all you can see are green hills. We can wake up every morning to a beautiful view out our huge bedroom sliding door. We are looking forward to waking up to the sounds of birds singing and falling asleep to the black sky listening to toads and crickets in the creek. No more crowds, busy cars, traffic, and bad energy. Not to mention we are only 7 minutes from the beach! I'll keep uploading pictures of the place as they come.

Taking pictures here is so much fun!
Some the the beautiful view from the balcony.

Brendan hard at work, taping in the bedroom. (At least his labor is free!)

Tucker and I deciding the color for the office.

My new front door and driveway. (Notice it is not a door at all, instead it is a HUGE slider.)

Then, Now and a Coverband

My family (mom, dad, Brendan and Tucker) drove to Bakersfield last weekend to catch up with some old friends. My parents friends, Bob and Sharon Chase, have two girls that are my age and I haven't seen them in 16 years.

THEN

dad, Sharon, Bob and mom

Connie, me, and Bobbie

We all reunited at Fishlips, a restaurant in their downtown area, to watch a ACDC coverband rock on stage. The band was called Bonfire, they rocked, and tried to be very authentic ACDC.

NOW

Brendan, Connie, Bobbie, me

It was a blast! My brother, Connie, and I were up in the front row singing all the songs. The singer even stuck the mic in our faces so that we could sing along (Tucker's not the only one in this family with singing talent:).

A COVERBAND

The next morning we met them all again for breakfast. We got to meet Connie's 1.5 year old Blake and Bobbie's 5 week old Payton. Thanks Chase family for touring us around, we had a wonderful time.

Ice Chips

Warning: Ice Chips are frequently mistaken for snow at Mountain High.

Last weekend Tucker and I drove over to Mt. High Resort and found that the "snow" is more like chips of ice blown the previous night on the snow blower. I personally don't recommend the place unless it has recently snowed. They give you ice chips and make you play a version of Frogger (because of the exuberant amount of newbies sitting on their sore bums) and expect me to have a blast.

Tucker would like to leave a disclaimer: "Okay its not fresh pow pow...but Taras 'Ice Chips' aren't so bad once it warms up and especially if your working little jibs and park jumps around the resort (I hit the middle quads for the first time too:). I mean your in the desert right, so you can't expect too much and it also doesn't hurt when your riding at discount too....thx MadMikey. Last time it snowed Brendan and I went night boarding and did catch some really rare and nice snow in Wrightwood. It might not have been the best snow that day, but it was incredible out, the air was fresh, sun shining and I was with my baby on top of a mountain, c'mon. ya know."

Sorry for the lack of fun pictures. I always forget to bring my camera on the slopes.
