Giving Thanks

For our first married Thanksgiving we headed to The Pine Mountain Club where the Cannon Family had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. The cabin we stayed in was more like a mansion, with grand rooms and a awfully big kitchen (way bigger than what we are used to at home). We cooked, ate, watched movies, played games, went off roading in the truck, went golfing and sat by the fire. We truly enjoyed spending time with our family, who could trade anything for the good times, good laughs and good company.

Marissa+oldtimes=laugh fest

I got together with a few girl friends the other day. We met at the Sherman Oaks Galleria because Marissa was in town from New York. When we get together we can't help but remember the good old times we used to have when we were little. I've known Marissa longer than any of my other friends. 16 years (of friendship) seems like a life time!
We tryin to get one good picture, then.......

this happens.

Veteran's Day

My family comes from a long line of veterans, dating back to the Civil War. The Cashman family line has a exciting Irish history in itself which my Aunt Linda is researching extensively. I am proud to say that I have a grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, great great great grandfather and a great uncle that have served for our country, for making it the free country we live in. Just as proud as Tuck and I are of his grandfather Bud Slagle who served in World War II.As I talked with my class about Veteran's Day they had numerous questions that I was not prepared for, such as, why do some army men live on water? Why do they wear army print? Why are there bad guys? etc. many questions I could answer others were sad and difficult.Nothing can make me as proud to know that when my grandfather passed away he had an American flag covering his casket. Thank you Veteran's for letting us experience the freedom we all have today. Below is a picture of my great, great, great grandfather (far left) in his Civil War uniform. An oldie but goodie!

In the picture below my grandfather (far right) is pictured with his brother and uncle.

They are coming.........

.......the thank yous that is.We walked to the corner mail accesories store and dropped off our wedding thank yous in the outgoing mail. Yes, it took 6 months and I am sorry. I lacked the motivation after planning my wedding in 3 months all by myself, I take all the blame. All your love, support and gifts were more than we could ever ask for. Thank you to everyone for making our wedding experience so memorable.

Run'in to Santa Barbara

5:30 am alarm goes off
5:31 Tucker asks, "Do we have to go?"
6:00 On the road to Santa Barbara
7:40 Wish Erin and Mike good luck on the 13 mile run they are about to embark on
8:00 Watch and wait as fearless (or shall I say brainless) people torture themselves running at fast paces
8:35 at mile marker 6 Erin runs by, not looking as peppy as this morning. Mike, on the other side, looks fresh as the morning sun.
9:45 Mile marker 12, with a mile to go, Erin and Mike run by, Tucker blowing a whistle and running behind with a sign, mom cheering and dad and I taking pictures.
Thanks to Erin and Mike, we had a great time.
Did I mention Mike was wearing a tu-tu?
